Susan's foray into photography began in high school after her father bribed her with a camera in order to keep her from skipping school. Photography became such a main focus, that when it came time for college, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA was the destination. After graduation, she moved to NYC to pursue her career in food photography.

Using food as my subject has allowed me to pair my two greatest passions: photography and cooking. From the beginning, I loved the process of building a photograph. Arranging elements and melding the textures, shapes and colors into beautiful imagery continues to entice me. One of my favorite childhood memories was my grandmother making egg noodles. I loved watching a few handfuls of flour, water and egg morph into the silkiest, tastiest noodles on earth. I loved the way they swam in the clear chicken broth with the rounds of carrots and the perfect amount of pepper and fresh dill. The image of the noodles draping over the spoon immediately transports me right back to her kitchen. I want to capture all the fabulous experiences food can bring into each image I create. When not shooting, Susan spends her spare time at her house in the Catskills cooking for friends and kayaking.
