A native of Madrid, Spain, Bea has lived and worked in New York City since 2004. Her early education in photography came from very diverse sources. In Spain, she was an assistant to the unique "pop-art" photographer Oukaleele. In Madagascar, she learned from the documentary photographer Pierrot Men. And in NYC she assisted iconic music photographer Joseph Cultice.
In 2006 she graduated with honors from the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City. Her work has received national and international recognition, including selection by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington D.C.) as one of the top 5 Spanish Women Artists for the biennial Photography exhibition "Women to Watch”, the ICP/ Luger Award in Photography, the $50,000 Injuve Grant for Visual Artists, and Second Prize in the Notodofotofest.
Today, Bea works both as a commercial photographer and runs MERRY+, a "boutique" Branding firm. Bea and her team love to develop visually-driven solutions by employing elevated design and identity systems, great lifestyle photography, and digital and real-world experiences.
